How we rebuild and reclaim broken smiles

By definition, restorative dentistry is all about restoring the mouth to a healthy state or condition. Our team at Murphy Family Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry is in the best possible position to do this; we are the longest-operating family-owned dental practice in Murphy, Texas. For more than 25 years, we have rebuilt and replaced broken, decayed, and otherwise damaged teeth with trusted solutions and state-of-the-art technologies. Our dentists, Drs. Masoud E. Najari and Jacqueline T. Nguyen want to acquaint you with some of these capabilities by answering a few of the questions that they get from patients.

Question No. 1: I think I have a cavity or some other dental concern. What should I do next?

If you sense something is wrong with your tooth, contact us right away. We’ll examine the troublesome tooth and can confirm if a cavity is indeed present or if something else is responsible for noticeable staining, heightened sensitivity, and other symptoms.

Question No. 2: What if my tooth is really damaged – can you still save it?

Every patient’s situation is unique. But we strive to save essential teeth. Even teeth with deep inflammation or infection have been preserved through restorative dentistry. Options to potentially save teeth that have more extensive damage include crowns and root canal therapy, which is not the treatment that you may think it is.

Question No. 3: Is root canal therapy painful?

With modern anesthetic, sedation (as needed), and other techniques, root canal treatment can be painless. In fact, it eases pain. In their later stages, many oral conditions are associated with distressing symptoms that can interfere with your life. Root canal treatment may relieve the source of discomfort: the nerves inside the tooth.

Question No. 4: What if my tooth can’t be saved?

“Implant” is in our name! We have several cosmetic options to replace non-restorable teeth or missing teeth. In addition to implant-supported crowns, bridges, and dentures, Murphy Family Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry provides conventional bridges and dentures that do not look like “false teeth” and are precision-fit to create a patient’s beautiful smile.
